The TL;DR Extension processes webpage content locally and sends it to your chosen AI provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google) only when you explicitly click the "Generate Summary" button. This processing is:
Your API keys are stored securely using Chrome's built-in sync storage and are never transmitted to our servers. They are only used to authenticate with your chosen AI provider.
Purpose: Required to extract text content from the current webpage when you click the extension icon.
Usage: Only activates when you explicitly click "Generate Summary" - no background monitoring or automatic access.
Purpose: Required to securely store your API configuration (provider choice and API key) locally in Chrome.
Usage: Only stores your settings - no webpage content or personal data is ever stored.
Purpose: Required to inject content extraction script into webpages when you request a summary.
Usage: Only executes when you click "Generate Summary" to extract readable text from the current page.
Purpose: Required to identify the current active tab for content extraction.
Usage: Only accesses the currently active tab when you explicitly request a summary.
We do not use any remote code. All extension code is packaged locally. We do not request host permissions for specific websites.
When you generate a summary, content is sent to your chosen AI provider:
